박진하의 사진은 도시를 단지 공간으로 담지 않는다. 그는 도시를 ‘시간의 풍경’, 곧 크로노스케이프(Chronoscape)로 본다. 눈앞에 펼쳐진 건축물과 도로, 빛과 그림자의 흐름은 모두 현재의 것이지만, 동시에 과거와 미래의 시간들이 중첩된 퇴적층처럼 이 도시 위에 겹겹이 쌓여 있다. 작가는 이 무한한 시간의 결을 카메라 렌즈에 담아내며, 정지된 장면 속에서 흐름을 드러낸다. 그의 사진에서 우리는 흔히 보았던 도시의 문과 길, 타워와 교차로를 다시 마주하게 된다. 그러나 익숙한 장면은 낯선 리듬으로 재조율되고, 이는 우리가 놓치고 지나쳤던 도시의 감각—시간과 감정, 역사와 기억—을 다시 불러낸다. “Vision of Chronoscape”는 그렇게 시간과 공간, 구조와 사건이 교차하는 지점을 사유하는 시도이며, 사진이 단순한 재현을 넘어 도시의 존재론을 탐색할 수 있음을 증명한다.
시간의 도시, 도시의 시간 – 박진하의 건축적 사진언어
박진하의 사진은 도시를 하나의 시간 장치로 읽어낸다. 그의 렌즈는 단순히 외관을 포착하는 도구가 아니라, 구조물 안팎에 축적된 시간성과 사건성의 흔적을 발굴하는 도구로 작동한다. 그가 포착한 서울의 문—광화문, 숭례문—은 더 이상 고정된 기념비가 아니다. 그것은 과거의 권위와 현재의 속도, 미래의 이미지가 겹쳐진 하나의 복합적 장(scene)이다. 이 장면에서 건축은 더 이상 기능적 구조가 아니다. 그것은 집단기억을 지탱하는 상징이자, 시대의 변화를 반영하는 리듬의 매개체이다. 하이데거의 '거주함(Dwelling)'의 개념처럼, 이 도시적 구조물들은 인간의 존재방식과 삶의 시간들을 품은 장소로 다시 태어난다. 또한 그의 사진에서 강조되는 '흐름의 흔적', 즉 장노출로 인한 빛의 궤적은 츄미(Bernard Tschumi)가 말한 사건(event)의 흔적을 시각화한 것이다. 이 사진들은 구조와 사건, 형식과 시간의 충돌과 교차를 보여주는 일종의 건축적 도해이기도 하다.

A Gaze Traversing the Strata of Time
Park Jin-ha's photographs do not merely contain the city as space. He views the city as a 'time-landscape', or Chronoscape. The architecture, roads, and the flow of light and shadow unfolding before our eyes belong to the present, but simultaneously, the times of past and future are superimposed upon this city like layers of sediment, piled one upon another. The artist captures this infinite texture of time within his camera lens, revealing flow within a static scene. In his photographs, we encounter again the city's gates and paths, towers and intersections that we commonly see. However, these familiar scenes are retuned to an unfamiliar rhythm, re-evoking the senses of the city – time, emotion, history, and memory – that we had missed and passed by. "Vision of Chronoscape" is thus an attempt to contemplate the point where time and space, structure and event intersect, proving that photography can explore the ontology of the city beyond simple representation.
Time City, City's Time – Park Jin-ha's Architectural Photographic Language
Park Jin-ha's photographs read the city as a mechanism of time. His lens functions not merely as a tool for capturing external appearance but as one that excavates the traces of temporality and eventfulness accumulated within and around structures. The gates of Seoul he captures – Gwanghwamun, Sungnyemun – are no longer fixed monuments. They are complex fields (scenes) where past authority, present speed, and future images are overlaid. In these scenes, architecture is no longer a functional structure; it is a symbol that supports collective memory and a medium that reflects the rhythms of changing times. Like Heidegger's concept of 'Dwelling', these urban structures are reborn as places that embrace the human way of being and the times of life. Furthermore, the 'traces of flow' emphasised in his photographs – the trajectories of light resulting from long exposure – are a visualisation of the 'event' as discussed by Tschumi. These photographs are a type of architectural diagram, demonstrating the collision and intersection of structure and event, form and time.
